SOCIALIST TO LIVE HIGH

Jack Layton’s new found lifestyle, as leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, may well be inconsistent with his image as a socialist. In his new role, our Jacko will be enjoying the lavish perks that come with the office, such as a 34 room mansion with a cadre of servants, including a chef and chauffer. Additionally, Jacko will also enjoy a substantial pay raise to over $233,000 a year. Let’s not forget that his MP wife also enjoys a public paycheck to the tune of $158,000 a year.

While the Layton’s may not be “riding the bus” with the rest us, this is well consistent with NDP policy of sucking the public purse.

Actually, accepting these perks may not be contrary to his own socialist image at all. When Jacko was still serving as a city councilor in Toronto he was alleged to be unfairly living in federally subsidized housing. He was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing by the city solicitor, even though he had voluntarily paid extra to offset the subsidy after it was learned that he and his wife had a combined income of $120,000.

Layton might want to take a lesson from his socialist brother Governor Jerry Brown of California. During his current and previous tours as governor, Brown has refused to occupy a governor’s mansion opting instead to share a modest one room apartment with his wife.

Unfortunately for Jacko his new domestic staff does not include a masseuse.

IGGY RESIGNS

A disgraced Michael Ignatieff has resigned as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, following a humiliating election loss.

Iggy's crushing defeat saw the Liberal's seat numbers reduced from 77 to 34, causing them to lose official opposition status to the NDP. Adding to the humiliation, Iggy even lost his own seat to the Conservatives.

"I go out of politics with my head held high," Ignatieff said. Iggy give your overly large head a shake!

THE ZM CALLED IT!

Stephen Harper and the Tories win a majority government.

Michael Ignatieff's political career over... the Liberal Party finished?

BQ's Gilles Duceppe disgraced... BQ finished!

NDP's "orange wave" makes a splash... let the pontificating begin Jacko.

Green Party's Elizabeth May elected... Elizabeth who?

ELECTION PREDICTION

With just minutes to go before the polls close here in BC, it is time for my election prediction.

My gut feeling... Tory majority!

GET OUT AND VOTE

Today is federal election day. Please remember to get out and vote. Those of us that fail to exercise our vote have no right to criticize.

JACKO UPDATE

It turns out that our Jacko's "community clinic" was an alleged rub and tug parlour called the Velvet Touch Massage. It was eventually closed after the City of Toronto refused to renew its business licence.

NO HAPPY ENDING FOR JACKO

As the federal election enters its final days, reports have surfaced over a visit that NDP leader Jack Layton made to a massage parlour in Toronto's Chinatown district some fifteen years ago.

It turns out that police officers found our Jacko in the nude with a young Asian woman. Jacko denies any impropriety, claiming he was simply visiting a "community clinic" with the full knowledge of his wife.

Come on Jacko, the polls indicate that a large number of Canadians are stupid enough to vote NDP, but do you really expect they are stupid enough to buy the community clinic spin?
